The Master of Philosophy is a unique interdisciplinary research degree offered by UNSW Canberra that combines postgraduate coursework and an original research thesis. The degree is suited to professionals who already have several years of experience in the workforce and want to develop research skills. It allows students with an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in a related subject area to develop expertise in a new area of research with the opportunity to advance to a PhD. 

Candidates are expected to produce a thesis that demonstrates independent thought, enhanced disciplinary knowledge, analytical skills, and mastery of related research methodologies.
