Biographical Note

Poet Steve (Stephen) Evans was born in 1952 in Adelaide. During his career as an accountant and business manager he began publishing his poetry collections, the first being Edison Doesn’t Invent The Car in 1990. His poetry has won various prizes including the Barbara Hanrahan Fellowship and the Satura Prize. Evans has also lectured at the University of Canberra and worked as an Associate Professor at Flinders University
