Ballet dancer and arts administrator. Born in 1924, Geoffrey Ingram danced with the Borovansky Company and the Melbourne Ballet Guild before becoming the foundation administrator of the Australian Ballet (1963-1965). He negotiated the guest appearances of Rudolph Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn in the Australian Ballet’s first international tour (1965), challenged the SALT (Strategic Arms Limitation Talks) Treaty between the Soviet Union and United States in the High Court of Australia (1969), and prepared a submission to the House of Representatives Expenditure Committee Arts Inquiry (1986).  Ingram maintained a particular interest in the role of the arts in war and peace, and was Visiting Fellow in the Performing Arts at the Australian Defence Force Academy (1988), researching the history and philosophy of dance.
