Barry Dickins is an Australian playwright, actor and artist. His career has included a close association with La Mama Theatre in Melbourne as well as the Australian Performing Group. Dickins is a prolific writer, with over fifty plays to his credit, contributing columns and non-fiction to various publications, as well as prose and non-fiction publications. He is also an artist, with his art published in the Melbourne Age and published material.

His best-known work is the stage play Remember Ronald Ryan, a dramatization of the life of the last man executed in Australia. It won the 1995 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award.
