Mr Christopher McNicol

Chris McNicol is a Director at the Australian Civil-Military Centre in Canberra. He is a former career diplomat of more than two decades experience with postings in India, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Iraq and Bougainville.

In Australia he has served with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as a Senior Policy Advisor, and as a member of Faculty at the National Security College, Australian National University.

His interests are national security policy and effects, including the strategic application of soft and hard power, weapons of mass destruction, and national strategic assets such as the intelligence architecture and diplomacy.
