Dr Maryam Ghodrat is a senior lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at UNSW Canberra. She completed her PhD and Master of Engineering at the University of New South Wales. She then worked as lecturer and prior to that as a postdoctoral research fellow at Western Sydney University and Swinburne University of Technology before joining UNSW.
Dr Ghodrat’ s expertise is in the application of combustion and fluid dynamics theories to solve problems related to fire spread, Wildfire-Urban Interface (WUI) and fires buoyancy-driven fluid dynamics. Her research also involves in modelling multi-scale and multi-physics turbulent flows and developing effective numerical tools for practical applications to support mitigating the impact of natural disasters.
