Brenton Smith

Research Associate

Brenton Smith is a postdoctoral research fellow at UNSW Canberra Space specialising in satellite formation control, space situational awareness and space traffic management. Brenton is particularly interested in practical implementations of propellantless means of controlling formations of satellites to enable the next-generation of space-borne capability. He submitted his Ph.D. dissertation in 2018 which deepened the understanding of aerodynamic accelerations for satellite formation control. His work continues along this theme by developing high-fidelity and computationally efficient propagations of satellites to improve orbit determination and prediction, satellite formation flight methodology, and space traffic management.
